2007 TFN Charity Outing
Nets $35,000 for Great Cause

On Thursday, July 26, 2007, Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield, Illinois played host to The Fairway Network’s signature event of the season, the 2007 Charity Golf Tournament. The Tournament raised over $35,000 for Chicago Foundation for Women, the premier charitable organization advocating for the needs of women and children.

Mae Hong, Chair of Chicago Foundation for Women and keynote speaker for the Tournament, noted that The Fairway Network is one of Chicago Foundation for Women’s key fundraising partners. The Fairway Network enables Chicago Foundation for Women to make grants to hundreds of local organizations that benefit women and girls. Since 1986, Chicago Foundation for Women has awarded more than 2,300 grants totaling $13 million, securing the organization’s position as one of the largest women’s funds in the world.
 
More than twenty official sponsors and one hundred and fourteen golfers participated in the Tournament. Hole-In-One sponsors BP, High Ridge Partners, Inc. and Northern Trust led the charitable charge. TotalWorks, Inc., a perennial supporter of the Tournament, provided complementary eye-catching signs posted throughout the course to recognize Tournament sponsors. Miller Brewing Company and Gatorade quenched golfers’ thirsts throughout the day. 
 
Dozens of benefactors supplied golf-related items for Tournament participants. Other donors generously contributed items to the Tournament’s silent auction, which raised over $5000 in competitive bids. Winning bidders will indulge in luxurious hotel accommodations, award-winning cuisine, cultural delights, and enviable seats in Chicago’s top sports venues.
