TFN Community Service Co-Chairs and 2007 TFN Chair Barb Vicory present donation check to Chicago Foundation for Women representatives Mary F. Morten and Kara Fagan.

ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Fairway Network’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament will benefit Chicago Foundation for Women for the seventh consecutive year. Historically, with the help of generous sponsors, TFN has been able to make a significant contribution to Chicago Foundation for Women to assist various agencies that promote girls’ health and work to prevent violence against women and girls.

Held at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in late July, the Tournament typically attracts more than 120 participants.

The Community Service Committee thanks its past sponsors for their kind support and invites everyone to participate as a sponsor in this year’s Tournament.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorships are available from $500 and up. Please contact Crystal Caison (312.475.0888 or ccaison@lieggilaw.com)

Silent Auction Items and Raffle Prizes
Sponsors may contribute to the Tournament by donating goods or services that can be included in the Silent Auction or the Raffle.

Swag Bags
Sponsors are welcome to promote their businesses and provide Tournament players with sleeves of golf balls, tees, golf towels, snacks and beverages. If you or your company is interested in providing any of the above, please contact one of the Event Chairs, Jennifer Kenedy (312.443.0337 or jkenedy@lockelord.com) or Lori Runquist (312.444.5934 or lrr2@ntrs.com).

We look forward to working with you to make the 2008 Tournament the most successful one yet!

2007 TFN Charity Outing

The 2007 TFN Charity event was held at Klein Creek Golf Club on July 26th. The event raised $38,300.21 from Corporate Sponsorships, event and silent auction proceeds along with individual. The money was donated to The Chicago Foundation for Women. Since 2004, TFN's annual charity outing has raised over $150,000. The Fairway Network enables Chicago Foundation for Women to make grants to hundreds of local organizations that benefit women and girls. Since 1986, Chicago Foundation for Women has awarded more than 2,300 grants totaling $13 million, securing the organization's position as one of the largest women's funds in the world.

The Community Service committee is planning another great event this year. Once again, this year's event will include a raffle and silent auction. We need your help soliciting donations for this worthy cause. Do you know anyone that can donate goods or services that can be auctioned off? Past auction items included restaurant gift certificates, sports tickets, concert tickets, weekend getaways, golf clubs, green fees and spa services. Any donated item, service or experience would be appreciated.

Please contact Community Service Chair, Jennifer Kenedy at 312-443-0377 or via email at jkenedy@lordbissell.com, for more information.

Community Service

Since the founding of The Fairway Network, it has had as its key mission component to promote community service through golf. In 1999, The Fairway Network was proud to receive the Diamond in the Rough Award from the Willye White Foundation, which promotes self esteem through sports for underprivileged girls. This award is presented to individuals or groups who are exemplary in their efforts to benefit girls and women in sports. In addition to the Willye White Foundation, The Fairway Network has contributed to LPGA’s official charity, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the NIU Women’s Golf Team, The Bottomless Closet and St. Scholastica High School, an inner-city school in an economically disadvantaged area, in its effort to obtain used golf equipment for the start-up of its girls’ golf team.

The majority of The Fairway Network’s charitable contributions are raised at its annual fund raiser golf outing. Funds are raised through corporate sponsorship of the outing, greens fees, mulligan sales, raffles and a silent auction. In the year 2004, over $32,000 was raised at the season fundraiser of The Fairway Network.
