ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Fairway Network’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament will benefit the Chicago Foundation for Women for the tenth consecutive year. Historically, with the help of generous sponsors, TFN has been able to make a significant contribution to Chicago Foundation for Women to assist various agencies that promote girls’ health and work to prevent violence against women and girls.
The Tournament typically attracts more than 100 participants and raises approximately $30,000. This year’s event will be held on August 30th at Silver Lakes Country Club in Orland Park. Register online at: www.thefairwaynetwork.org
“Fairway Network members show the incredible power of women’s philanthropy, of women supporting women,” said Kelly White, executive director of Chicago Foundation for Women. “This tournament is Chicago Foundation for Women’s second-largest fundraiser.”
The Community Service Committee thanks its past sponsors for their kind support and invites everyone to participate as a sponsor in this year’s Tournament.

TFN Mission includes Community Service
Since the founding of The Fairway Network, it has had as its key mission component to promote community service through golf. In 1999, The Fairway Network was proud to receive the Diamond in the Rough Award from the Willye White Foundation, which promotes self esteem through sports for underprivileged girls. This award is presented to individuals or groups who are exemplary in their efforts to benefit girls and women in sports. In addition to the Willye White Foundation, The Fairway Network has contributed to LPGA’s official charity, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the NIU Women’s Golf Team, The Bottomless Closet and St. Scholastica High School, an inner-city school in an economically disadvantaged area, in its effort to obtain used golf equipment for the start-up of its girls’ golf team.
The majority of The Fairway Network’s charitable contributions are raised at its annual fund raiser golf outing. Funds are raised through corporate sponsorship of the outing, greens fees, mulligan sales, raffles and a silent auction.
